Hello!

So, as promised, I went to court on Tuesday to finish this ordeal once and for all. Turns out, it was already over. Plaintiff withdrew all claims on August 14, 2017. They were required to inform me within 7 days of the action ("Notifying the other parties"), but of course they did not and I wasted my time, and that of my attorney (yes, I am still represented by council). So, what resulted from 13 months in court, a dozen or more filings, charges and accusations? A ruined reputation, a ruined business, and all charges withdrawn. What a colossal waste of a year!
So, while his immediate legal adventures are over, mine are just starting. I will not, however, involve any of you in those.
So... back to the laser.
In anticipation of this all ending, I fired up the laser a few weeks ago and began calibration tests. Half way through a run, the laser stopped firing. WTF!!??
I spent an hour on the phone with Epilogue tech support, and this is the result.
What that means, is that the RF (radio frequency) Unit, that is tuned to the tube and excites the CO2 gases for firing the laser.... is broken. Kaput!
So, I have scrapped together the money for the RF Unit, but before ordering it I thought I should run through the test again. When I started up the Laser, the control panel quit. Yup. The replacement control panel I had already replaced (with a second hand one). So, they do not make these anymore, but they do cannibalize units to try and get units working again. So, I had two non-functioning units and I sent them both to Epilogue Canada, who in turn, is sending them to Epilogue in the States, to try and patch together one working control panel. If they can't, and I can't find one, there is no point in replacing the RF unit until I can find a second hand one, because the unit does not work without the control panel. I am destined to buy a new laser one-part-at-a-time!
So, Terry is sending the control panels to Epilogue US, and then they will try and get me one working unit. I am going to stay on top of Epilogue and get you any new information as it comes. If anybody knows of a functioning control panel for an Epilogue 32EX... please send them my way!
I will not be posting "No News Yet!" posts. I will post the very moment I hear anything from Epilogue. We are all in the same boat.
Thank you for your patients.
